Status quo on Gurukul Trust land

By S A Ishaqui

Hyderabad,June 24: The AP High Court on Wednesday, directed the state government to maintain status quo in regularising layouts and buildings situated on Gurkul Ghatkesar Trust land near Hitec City.

A division bench, while dealing with a petition filed Mr Chandrasen Reddy, an advocate, issued notices to the revenue and municipal administration departments asking them to file their counter affidavits within four weeks.

The petitioner urged the court to direct the municipal administration department not to regularise buildings and layout in Trust land in accordance with GO Ms No. 901 and 902.

According to the petitioner, the land belonged to one Badrinath and he handed it over to the Trust in 1951 through a gift deed. The Trust holds about 627 acres in Izzatnagar and Khanamet villages of Serilingampally mandal. He told the court that one Kishanlal executed the GPA to Ayyappa Co-Operative Housing Society for 70 acres and the Society, in turn, sold the land to several individuals.

The petitioner prayed the court to quash the proceedings of the special officer and the Competent Authority Urban Land Ceiling Hyderabad.

Prominent persons including actors and politicians had constructed houses in the land which has remained at the centre of a controversy for the last two decades.

* State backs its stand in HC

The state government on Wednesday defended its action before the AP High Court in allotting land belonging to the AP Housing Board to the AP Congress Committee for construction of the party office at Bhimaraobada near Gandhi Bhavan in the city.

Mr A. Satya Prasad, additional advocate general, said the government is empowered to direct the housing board to allot land for a specific purpose. While citing the Rule position, he said land was allotted after paying relevant compensation to the board.

Mr Gandra Mohan Rao, counsel for the petitioner, said the government paid Rs 12 crore to the housing board and allotted the land to the party. The hearing will continue on Thursday.

* AP asked to obey MCI rules

The AP Administrative Tribunal has asked the government to follow the Medical Council of India rules in promotions and postings of doctors. The petitioners questioned the constitutional validity of an amendment issued by the state government to the Medical Education Service rules.

According to the amendment, promotion to the posts of additional directors of medical education and principals of medical colleges and superintendent of teaching hospitals, the seniority will be counted for the next promotions from the initial category of Civil Assistant Surgeons.

Unfortunately media and other balckmailing groups have torubling the Ayyappa Society Land Owners.

My question is The gurukul Trust is not at all a Trust belongs to a publc property.
The trust has been grnated approval to sell the lands about 30years bacck by the then Govt. Govt. has power to grant permission but do not have power to take back the permission grnated. If this is a Govt. land, how Govt has purchased Gurukul land (160 aceres of HITEX) from the trust. Nay way Govt. has come out with a GO to pay regularisation fees ( which also need not be paid by the owners of Ayyappa Society)and paid the in crores of rupees. now it is Govt. to regularise the land and buildings to the extent of proper applications filed by the residents. Media !!!! please stop all your over action. Yes all illegal buildings constructed after due date of regularisation, the offcials have to decide. Why the officials are sleeping all these days and months and causing loss of crores of money by demollishing the buildings.
